ANA DİLİ İNGİLİZCE OLMAYAN TÜRK YAZARLARIN İNGİLİZCE MAKALE ÖZETLERİNDEKİ HATALARIN ANALİZİ

An abstract serves as a ‘mini-paper’ reflecting all the essential components of academic paper. Thus, linguistic correctness English abstracts Turkish articles is vital importance. The study, therefore, aims to explore how error-free scientific written by authors in field sports sciences are. As qualitative corpus analysis present study descriptively analyzed 109 article published 18 journals. A total 188 errors five main categories grammatical, syntactic, mechanics, lexical, and semantic were identified. Grammar syntax leading while mechanics also detected at high rate. It was concluded that often stemmed from L1 interference intralingual evident corpus. Scientific journals citation indexes, well authors, need pay attention since they reflect represent entire paper international world.
